Commerzbank to sell EMC unit to Societe Generale

Commerzbank said on Tuesday that it has reached an agreement to sell its equity markets and commodities — or EMC — business to France's Societe Generale.

Under the terms of the agreement, the German bank said it will transfer its EMC trading books, client franchise, staff and parts of the information-technology infrastructure. The transfer will begin at the end of 2018 and continue through 2019.
