Three firms betting on the commodities markets have topped a ranking of the world's best-performing hedge funds last year, with returns in excess of 130%.

Australian firm Tribeca Investment Partners, Switzerland-based Montreux Capital Management and Canada-based Front Street Capital managed three of the most high-performing hedge funds globally in 2016, according to data provider Preqin's 2017 Global Hedge Fund Report.
