The UK's Competition and Markets Authority on 19 July said it is considering whether Bloomberg's acquisition of Broadway Technology might substantially lessen competition within UK markets for goods and services.
The regulator said it is considering whether the financial, software, data, and media company's acquisition of front-office fintech solutions provider Broadway for an undisclosed sum might create a relevant merger situation, and if it might result in a substantial lessening of competition.
Bloomberg's acquisition was first disclosed in March, and is subject to regulatory approvals.
The CMA has set a deadline of 14 September for its phase 1 decision. It has invited comments on the transaction from any interested party by 2 August.
