Consortium admits 'key facts' missing on ABN bid

The Royal Bank of Scotland-led consortium bidding €71.1bn ($96.5bn) to acquire ABN Amro has admitted it does not know "many of the key facts" relating to the Dutch bank despite making its indicative offer more than a month ago.

The consortium said it would negotiate the exact terms of the restructuring of the Dutch bank after it wins control of ABN Amro, according to US filings made yesterday.
