The excitement ahead of last year’s COP26 conference was palpable. Political and business titans gathered in Glasgow for the global summit after a 12 month hiatus due to Covid.

With this year’s COP taking place in Egypt amid ongoing war in Ukraine, soaring inflation and an energy crisis, there is some concern that last year’s focus on climate has diminished — particularly as European countries dial-down reliance on Russian energy supplies by ramping up their use of fossil fuels.
