Copan, the privately-held US venture capital firm which specialises in strategic capital for portfolio companies seeking international expansion, has opened an office in London and appointed Amazon's Spencer Hyman as managing director.

Hyman will be responsible for strategic planning and support for Copan's portfolio of US companies as they expand into the European markets. He has fifteen years of experience in international management of media, entertainment and technology companies.
