Scottish Widows Investment Management has sacked Mike Corless as head of UK equities.

The news comes as Thomson Publications' pension scheme announced it has dropped Scottish Widows - which is currently merging with Hill Samuel Asset Management - in favour of Deutsche Asset Management.
