A new transparency initiative has been launched by firms that advise investors on corporate governance issues following a recommendation from the European Securities and Markets Authority.

The Best Practice Principles for Governance Research Group has been formed in response to a call by Esma for more openness from governance research providers and proxy voting advisers about their decision-making processes.
