Corporates return to advisers as M&A rebounds

Companies carried out a higher proportion of mergers and acquisitions deals using investment banking advisers in the first quarter this year than at any point in 2003, according to Thomson Financial, the data provider

In the first three months of 2004, 12% of European M&A by value was carried out without advisers, down from 14% for the whole of 2003, said Thomson.
