London's councillors may lose in pensions

Newly elected local authority councillors in London could find themselves with inferior pensions provision compared with other local government workers. This is because local authority pension funds are looking to cut costs after a government-sponsored review.

The Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions (DTLR) is discussing future pension entitlements of councillors, who are not considered employees of local authorities but may be offered pension provision.
