Court ruling threatens CVC Opportunity fund

The $1bn (€1.1bn) CVC Opportunity fund is under threat of being disbanded after UK Law Lords ruled that its general manager could be wound up unless it offered a fair price for shares held by a minority shareholder after dismissing him as an employee.

The fund is likely to be disbanded if it loses its general manager. The principal investor in the fund is Citigroup's CVC (originally known as Citicorp Venture Capital).
