Courts creditors eye international assets

Morgan Stanley emerges among the biggest creditors

Morgan Stanley is believed to be the largest creditor to Courts, having bought up at a discount some of the smaller banks' exposure to the UK furniture retailer in the days leading up to its forced administration nearly two weeks ago.

Disclosure of Morgan Stanley's new position comes as creditors owed £280m (€408m) prepare to pursue their rights over Courts' overseas assets. The US investment bank is expected to play a central role.
