Coutts Bank has promoted Hanspeter Brunner as its chief executive officer in Switzerland to replace Hugh Matthews who has left the private banking group to pursue other interest.

Brunner joined the bank three years ago from Credit Suisse and most recently was head of private banking in Asia, where he developed the operation. Succeeding Brunner is Paul Davies who currently heads the Geneva branch of Coutts.
