KPMG plans to axe nearly 200 jobs from its 16,000-strong UK workforce as part of cost-saving measures that have been hastened by the impact of the pandemic.

The firm is also considering slashing employer pension contributions, alongside cuts to 100 positions out of 3,000 in its consulting arm and just under 100 redundancies among 2,500 staff that make up its business support unit.
