Crédit Agricole presses ahead with IPO in 2001

Crédit Agricole, the largest bank in France, is pushing on with its plans for a partial flotation by the end of this year after revealing record annual results on Wednesday.

Jean Laurent, chief executive of the mutual bank, said that Crédit Agricole was making progress on the listing, which is likely to be the biggest and most complex European initial public offering of the year, but that details still needed to be finalised.
