Pereire Tod, the niche broking house, met with a high level delegation from Crédit Lyonnais Securities to discuss allegations that an analyst at the French bank plagiarised Pereire Tod's research for almost a year.

A source close to the meeting on Thursday said: "We were trying to see if we could arrive at an amicable settlement. To date, no further discussions have been scheduled."
