Credit Suisse has hired a commodities sales head from Barclays Capital to run its metals sales group in an effort to spearhead growth in the booming sector.

Alex Toone, formerly co-head of commodities sales and structuring for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Barclays, joins Credit Suisse as a managing director and head of global metals sales for its partnership with Glencore International, the Swiss-based commodities trading group.
