Credit Suisse is to expand its investment banking operations in central Asia by opening an office in Kazakhstan, following a crop of financing deals from the country led by the Swiss bank in recent years.

Credit Suisse's office will be based in Almaty, the capital city and financial centre of the former Soviet state, and will deliver what it describes as integrated banking services to its corporate and institutional clients in the country.
