The chief executive of Credit Suisse on Thursday thanked God that his bank had decided to cut its reliance on trading revenues, which have already risen and fallen dramatically this year.

"Global markets [sales and trading] doesn't drive our economics and will not drive our economics," Tidjane Thiam repeated multiple times at the Morgan Stanley European Financials Conference in London.
