Bank analysts are sceptical about an activist campaign to split Credit Suisse into three parts, suggesting the firm behind the move would likely struggle to get enough investor backing to succeed.

The Swiss bank is facing a battle with the prominent European activist RBR Capital Advisors, which wants to split it into an investment bank, asset manager, and wealth management and retail banking business.
