Credit Suisse Asset Management is launching a private equity fund of funds, CSA Private Equity, which will be targeted at Swiss pension funds.

As in the UK, the Swiss pension fund community has shied away from private equity investment due to the long term nature of the investment and the inherent risk. Less than 1% of pension fund money in Switzerland is understood to be invested in private equity. By next year, US pension funds will be investing an average 10% of assets in private equity, according to estimates.
