George Boutros, the star technology banker, has signed a deal with Credit Suisse that will keep him at the bank for another year. This comes as close friend and former colleague Frank Quattrone has approached former workmates over potentially launching a financial services firm.

Boutros, co-chairman of the global technology group at Credit Suisse, will stay at the bank at least until the end of 2007, according to sources familiar with the matter.
