Credit Suisse chairman Hans-Ulrich Doerig said yesterday he is stepping up the argument for banker pay through alternative channels, ahead of the bank's shareholder meeting on April 29.

"We are aware that pay remains a controversial topic, and we take concerns seriously and include them wherever possible," Doerig said in the taped message to shareholders on the bank's website.
