Credit Suisse failed to match its rivals with big trading gains in the second quarter of the year but the Swiss banking group still saw profits surge during the period.

Credit Suisse on Tuesday reported a 7% rise in group revenues to CHF5.6bn ($5.6bn) for the three months to the end of June, which drove pre-tax profits up by more than 80% to CHF1.3bn.
