Cricketing legend joins financial markets

Standard Chartered has become the latest financial institution to hire a sportsman as a private wealth adviser after recruiting Greg Chappell, the former Australian cricket captain, as a consultant to its private banking operation.

According to Wealth Briefing, the online news service, Chappell will be based in Singapore and market Standard Chartered's services to high net worth Indians across Asia. After captaining Australia, Chappell coached the national Indian cricket team on a two-year contract from that began in May 2005.
