The UK’s top crime-fighting agency is launching a new unit to tackle crypto criminals as law enforcement ramps up in the space.

The National Crime Agency’s “crypto cell” will initially contain five officers dedicated to a “proactive cryptocurrency remit”. A spokesperson told Financial News the move signalled an “increased focus” on cryptoassets.
