Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM) has hired Dennis Schaney to the new position of global head of fixed income and promoted Peter Roemer, co-head of Credit Suisse First Boston in Germany, to become CSAM's European chief executive.

Schaney joins from rival fund manager Blackrock Financial Management where he established the firm's high-yield business after joining in 1998.
