CSAM steps up corporate governance role

Credit Suisse Asset Management, the fund manager which runs around £190bn (€273bn) in assets, has appointed Richard Brumby as a corporate governance officer in a sign that the firm plans to become more active as an institutional shareholder.

Brumby will ensure all CSAM's guidelines on corporate governance are met and develop future policy. He will add this to his current responsibilities as director of charitable funds. He joined CSAM in 1997 from Schroder Investment Management.
