CSFB hit by record FSA fine

The UK's Financial Services Authority (FSA) has fined Credit Suisse First Boston International, the global derivatives business, £4m (€6.2m) for attempting to mislead the Japanese financial regulator and inland revenue.

The fine is the highest ever imposed by the UK regulator, and three times the size of its previous record-breaking fine on Royal & SunAlliance, the UK life assurer, for mis-selling pensions.
