CSFB loses another M&A banker

Credit Suisse First Boston has lost Thomas Whayne, a managing director in media and telecom mergers and acquisitions, to Banc of America Securities, the investment banking division of Bank of America.

Whayne, who has been with CSFB for 10 years, is joining BoA in a new position as head of an M&A team for media and telecoms in New York, part of its 60-strong global media and telecoms group headed by Steve Ketchum. Whayne worked on the 2001 merger between AT&T Broadband and Comcast, the US cable group.
