Credit Suisse First Boston has promoted Rodney Miller to head of mergers and acquisitions for the Americas, filling the position left empty by Cary Kochman two weeks ago when he went off to join UBS.

Miller has been with the Swiss-American bank for 18 years. He was promoted last year to co-head of the energy team alongside Matthew Harris after Bayo Ogunlesi became global head of investment banking. Miller has also worked in the bank's power, media, private equity and takeover defence divisions.
