CVC, the private equity firm, is believed to have appointed four banks to conduct a strategic review of IG Group, among the UK's best known spread betting companies.

Sources have told Financial News that Lexicon Partners, the specialist boutique and long-standing adviser to IG Group, and UBS will run the strategic review; Bridgewell Securities and Numis Securities have been appointed as co-lead managers, should IG Group decide to float.
