City grandee Dame Helena Morrissey has criticised comments made by prominent Square Mile lawmaker Catherine McGuinness after the local authority’s policy chair said the City should shy away from challenging China’s human rights abuses.

McGuinness said in an interview with City A.M. that she was “not really clear it’s our place” to criticise the Chinese government for its treatment of Uighur Muslims, adding that “we do need to look at business connections” with the country.
