Danielle Ballardie, one of the European trading industry’s high-profile female executives, has left Barclays.

Ballardie, director of electronic distribution at Barclays Capital Europe, the Middle East and Africa, left last week, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Her departure results from a broader review of Barclays' cost base. Barclays declined to comment.
