Danish national pension fund ATP makes a rare loss

The Danish national pension fund ATP made a loss of 1% in the opening three months of the year — a rare negative result at an institution known for its skill in dodging losses by hedging its investments.

The DKK652bn ($106.8bn) fund has averaged a 3.9% quarterly return over the previous five years, ATP said in a statement today. Over that time, it has made losses in just three quarters.
