Data snapshot: ETF activity in March

Emerging market ETFs benefited as billions of dollars were pulled from broadly based US indices amid jitters over the future of the economy

Emerging market exchange-traded funds were back in fashion in March as billions were yanked away from broadly based US indices amid jitters over the future of the economy.

The total invested in emerging market ETFs in March was $1.88bn, according to data compiled by BlackRock, with a third of the total targeted on broad strategies. The gains contrast with the $6.8bn pulled away from emerging market ETFs in the first quarter.
