Another year and another Davos. This World Economic Forum was slightly different to the ones I’ve previously been at. Whilst this year’s theme was “Responsive and Responsible Leadership” much of the chatter was about the new US President and Brexit. The sheer extent of uncertainty in the year ahead was really the defining quality.
It was good that Theresa May provided some much needed clarity and confirmed what many had suspected that the UK would exit the single market in order to regain control of its borders. Banks and insurers will now be thinking about the structure of their businesses in and outside of the EU.
