Michael Deakin has retired from his role as chief investment officer of Insight Investments, the fund managment arm of HBOS, following the completion of Insight's integration with Rothschild Asset Management.

Insight bought Rothschild Asset Management at the end of 2002 and has spent much of this year rationalising the two businesses.
