Deighton quits Goldman for Olympics

Paul Deighton, chief operating officer of Goldman Sachs' European businesses, has quit the US bank to become chief executive of the London Olympic Games Organising Committee.

Deighton, who has been with Goldman for 22 years, was responsible for the bank's European technology, operations and finance divisions. He was made partner in 1996.
