Deloitte & Touche, one of the Big Four accountancy groups, is to be investigated by the UK's accounting watchdog over its role as auditor and adviser to MG Rover, the failed UK car manufacturer.

The investigation by the Accountancy Investigation and Discipline Board will focus on Deloitte's audit of MG Rover's 2003 accounts as well as non-audit services provided.
