Big Four audit firm Deloitte was awarded a £3.2m contract to help with PPE procurement by the government in July for work it had already done, according to a critical report by the National Audit Office (NAO).

The investigation into emergency coronavirus procurement by the spending watchdog found the government had displayed a lack of transparency and had failed to document key decisions such as why some suppliers were chosen or how it identified and managed conflicts of interest.
