MPs quizzing the directors of collapsed construction and services company Carillion have called them "delusional" and accused them of being keen to foist the blame on a series of unforeseen factors.
Rachel Reeves and Frank Field, co-chairs of the joint Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and Work and Pensions Committees inquiry into Carillion, released a statement this afternoon criticising the responses given by the group who oversaw the downfall of the firm. Carillion, which collapsed in January, was a major government contractor and heavily involved in the provision of public services.
