Denmark and Iceland CSDs link up for cross-border settlement

The central securities depositories in Denmark and Iceland have built a link that will make it easier for Danish investors to buy and sell Icelandic securities, and vice versa.

The link between the Danish depository, called Værdipapircentralen (VP), and the Icelandic one, Verdbrefaskraning Islands (VS), will enhance the efficiency of clearing and settlement between the two countries by making it possible to register securities in either depository. It should produce substantial cost reductions.
