Deutsche Bank has hired senior investment banker Wolfgang Hammes as a managing director and head of its financial institutions group for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He is the first hire for the bank's newly integrated global FIG team, created in March this year.

Hammes will work closely with Ralf Buschmann, head of financial institutions group debt capital markets in Germany, and will report to Jorge Calderon, Deutsche's global head of financial institutions group.
