Deutsche Bank hires financial journalist to head up political affairs

The German lender is seeking to increase dialogue with politicians globally

Deutsche Bank has hired a former financial journalist in a newly-created role to increase its engagement with politicians across the world.

The German lender has taken on Sven Afhüppe, the former editor in chief of German newspaper Handelsblatt, as global head of political affairs, it said in a statement. He will report into Deutsche Bank chief executive, Christian Sewing.
