Deutsche Bank has named a former Goldman Sachs partner to run its global stock-trading business, which the German bank has earmarked for investment following two years of weak performance.

Peter Selman will take over from Tom Patrick as head of the global equities business, according to people familiar with the matter. A spokesman for Deutsche Bank declined to comment.
