Deutsche Bank has invited around 20% of its London-based employees back to the office after months of working from home, as investment banks start ramping up returns to their City headquarters.

The German lender, which has so-far kept employee numbers in its Great Winchester Street headquarters at a bare minimum, has asked around 1,700 of its City staff to come back to the office from the week beginning 7 September, according to people familiar with the matter.
