Deutsche Bank whistleblower awarded $200m prize for Libor tip-off

The payout is the largest ever by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission

A whistleblower whose information helped US and UK regulators investigate manipulation of global interest-rate benchmarks by Deutsche Bank was awarded nearly $200m for assisting the probe, according to people familiar with the matter.

The payout is the largest ever by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which along with the US Justice Department and UK Financial Conduct Authority settled enforcement actions against Deutsche Bank in 2015.
