The new chief executive of Deutsche Börse has urged the EU to “open the floodgates” for private capital as he warned of more European firms seeking US listings.

Stephan Leithner, who became Deutsche Börse’s sole chief executive at the start of this year, said Europe is suffering from a lack of capital willing to take on risk.
