Deutsche Börse, the German exchange operator, is targeting big deals to generate growth but has ruled out a merger with any of its large rivals two years after regulators shot down a tie-up with the London Stock Exchange.

Addressing analysts and investors at an event in London on May 22, chief executive Theodor Weimer said: “Our mergers and acquisitions focus in 2019 is on larger transactions to gain further scale.”
